Sara's water broke at 10:20pm Saturday night. She and Mitchell dropped Madi at Grandpa Mark's house and checked into the hospital at 11pm. Grandmas Kim and Kathie arrived at 11:15 as Sara was being moved into a Birthing Suite.
Sara was 4cm at check in, had an Epidural at midnite and was ready to push at 2:30am. Just a few good pushes, and the little guy emerged. A few lung clearing cries and then he quickly became alert and quiet, eyes wide open.
We were all in awe of how strong and good natured Sara was throughout the birth. When I left at 3:30, the new family member was nursing away and content.
What a miracle!
